Operation Candado

We are a group of researchers from Cornell University’s Citizens and Technology Lab studying the privacy expectations and content moderation experiences of people who use encrypted messaging apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Chat, Telegram, Signal. To learn more about this, we’re using this survey to collect stories from people like you. The survey will ask you about your experience with these messaging apps, for example, if you’ve ever had your privacy invaded, if you have ever had any of your content removed or have seen content you thought should not be shared. If you have any questions about the study, you can contact the researchers at candado@cornell.edu.

There are 18 questions in this survey.
This survey is anonymous.

The record of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you, unless a specific survey question explicitly asked for it.

If you used an identifying access code to access this survey, please rest assured that this code will not be stored together with your responses. It is managed in a separate database and will only be updated to indicate whether you did (or did not) complete this survey. There is no way of matching identification access codes with survey responses.
